What happened to Swaziland Relief?
Swaziland Relief was founded in 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 in the United States. Its purpose was to raise money and mobilize volunteers for partnership with the Kingdom of Swaziland.
In 2018, Swaziland officially changed its name to Eswatini. Our organization decided to drop the name "Swaziland" as well.
As we were pondering a new name, we noted that our focus had become less on direct relief and more on discipleship and community development. Furthermore, we noted that, while Eswatini is our primary country of focus, we also had partnerships that were expanding into South Africa and Mozambique.
To reflect these changes, we adopted an entirely new name: Comfort for Africa. It is our aim to comfort people who are in difficult circumstances with the same comfort we have received from God (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
